I am a BACP registered and a Certified Integrative (IIPA) Psychotherapist and Counsellor.
I work in private practice and have extensive experience working in the voluntary sector in the areas of addiction and bereavement. I worked for 12 years in the NHS. Having also worked for many years with physical therapies, I have experience of health and body issues and the effects that mind and body have upon each other.
I work with a wide range of issues, tailoring my approach to your specific needs. I use an Integrative approach to look at all aspects of the person, coming to understand what is important in your life, what makes you tick, helping you understand how you have come to be who you are and what you might like to change to enhance the quality of your life.
No two people are alike, so my workrecognises your individuality and uniqueness, and is tailored to your specific needs. Work may be short term, solution focused dealing with a specific issue, ormay be a longer-term exploration of the self, a journey to discover who you really are.
I am committed to Continuing Professional Development, and I am always looking to expand my skills and knowledge. I regularly attend workshops and seminars to keep up to date with current thinking and research. As a Registered Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) I work within their code of ethics.
